Common White Girl Tag with My Mom!

17:00 Unknown 9 Comments

Ahoy!

So, the other day I joked that I was a 'common white girl' but a guy that was nearby said that I wasn't because I was too ugly. Thanks. You're no panty-dropper yourself mate. Anyway, I decided to see how much of a common white girl I really am.

ps - I'm purple, my mom is orange (not literally)

1) Favourite Starbucks drink?

I hate Starbucks. I've been there about three times and every single time the service has been as horrible as the drinks.

Latte with hazelnut

2) How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

You mean how long do I titivate or how long until wake up and leave the house? Well, titivating, less than ten minutes but as for until I leave the house, about 50 minutes. I'm an unorganised a**hole, ok?!

1 hour

3) How many selfies do you take on a daily basis?

One. But I rarely keep it or share it.

0

4) How many IG followers do you have?
It took me a while to work out what IG meant. But the answer is zero, I don't have it.

Only ironically.

6) Do you wear the same clothing item more than once?

Yes! Unless I didn't like it, then no. Duh. Unless you mean do I wear them twice without washing the no.

No.

7) Are you racist?

No.

No.

8) Instagram, Twitter or Tumblr.

Well, seeing as I only have Tumblr, it will have to be Tumblr

Twitter

9) How many tweets do you have?

10). What do you spend most of your time doing?

11) Who are your favourite YouTubers?

13) Are you a shopaholic?

For books and music? Yes.

Yes.

14) How many times have you watched Mean Girls?

Twice, it was alright!

Twice

15) Do you own a lot of clothes?

Depends who you ask. My dad would say yes, I would say no.

16) Do you take pictures of your food before you eat it?

If I made it myself.

No

17) Do you wear makeup everyday?

No.

No

18) What are your average grades in school?

20) Do you always look presentable?

So, I guess it's for you to decide: Am I a common white girl? Is my mom?

What Hogwarts house Am I In?

17:00 Unknown 14 Comments

Ahoy!

Now, I've always considered myself a Ravenclaw and was even told so on the OLD Pottermore quiz. Now they have a new which Carrie Hope Fletcher did which seems far more accurate and I would like to find out which house I truly belong in!

You can do the test here

So, there you have it. I'm pretty disappointed to be in Slytherin if I am honest but I'll have to work with it. *sobs*

The Black Cat (Edgar Allan Poe) BOOK REVIEW

17:00 Unknown 6 Comments

Ahoy!

So, sorry for failing to upload a review last week. Although, I can say that my excuse is valid. I was being productive: I was revising. I was actually revising. I must have been inhabited by an alien, because that is not me. Maybe this is Hiln the Bliecip writing, not Hannah the Humanoid.

Source: blackcatrescue(dot)wordpress(dot)com

Ok, so after that slightly creepy introduction, let's get to an actual review and forget about that!

In a Nutshell:
The tale centers around a black cat and its temperate owner.

The Actual Review:

I guess I needed a good dose of Poe seeing as this caught me completely off guard!

The prose - true to EAP - is dark, insightful and sickening. The depictions of animal abuse particularly made me feel ill and I can be sure my toes literally curled.

The narrative of later scenes echoed those of the Tell-Tale  Heart and not just echoed, had a frightening sameness that was grossly disappointing. However, my bias allows me to let it go.

Also, I should add it that it is actually rather refreshing to have a character who isn't supposed to be relatable because so often, attempts at writing in relatable characters fail miserably. So, yes, thank-you very much Mr Poe for introducing variety to my reading.

In Conclusion:

⚫️ Dark imagery
⚫️ Sickening depictions of abuse and murder
⚫️ Grossly disappointing similarity to the Tell-Tale Heart

Rating:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Does this book support We Need Diverse Books? (See sidebar for more info)

No
